KATE DALEY NUTRITION & COUNSELING
Sports Nutrition & Mental Health Counseling
Kate Daley, LPC, RDN, CEDS
I’m Kate, a dual-licensed registered sports dietitian and mental health therapist who works with athletes at the intersection of nutrition, mental health, and performance. With training and experience in sports dietetics and clinical mental health counseling—alongside a background as a Division I athlete—I help athletes address performance challenges alongside eating and body image concerns.

I support collegiate, professional, master’s, and recreational athletes, as well as individuals who identify as non-athletes or retired athletes, in reaching their goals while creating and maintaining a supportive, sustainable relationship with food. My approach recognizes that long-term wellness and performance depend on both physical and psychological well-being.

I practice from a non-diet, weight-inclusive lens and believe athletes can pursue excellence in their sport while strengthening their relationship with food. I’d be honored to help you perform at your best in competition, training, and everyday life!
Kate Daley is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Registered Dietitian (RDN), and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). She earned her master’s degree from the University of Denver and her undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut (UConn), where she was a member of the Cross Country and Track & Field teams. Her clinical training included specialized work treating athletes with eating disorders, serving as both a clinical mental health clinician and registered dietitian.

Throughout her career, Kate has worked across a variety of treatment settings, including hospitals, athletic departments, private practice, and higher levels of care for both eating disorders and substance use disorders.

Kate has presented at conferences and other professional settings on topics including eating disorders, Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs), Safe Exercise at Every Stage (SEES), sports nutrition, sport psychology, and mental health in the context of sport at all levels—from recreational to Olympic. She has experience working with individuals, families, and groups.

Her clinical approach is strength-based and rooted in a humanistic, person-centered philosophy. She utilizes evidence-based modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

In her dual role as a sport and eating disorder therapist and dietitian, Kate specializes in working with athletes seeking treatment for eating disorders, helping them pursue recovery while continuing in the sport they love.

Kate believes in holistic healing and meaning-making, helping clients discover who they are outside of their eating disorder so they can show up as their most authentic selves in sport and in life. She values the power of the therapeutic relationship and the importance of healing in community. She meets clients where they are in their recovery, providing compassionate, individualized, and nonjudgmental care—with a touch of humor along the way.

Outside of her professional work, Kate enjoys spending time with family and friends and exploring Colorado through running and skiing.
